Ilona walked through the dank alley, letting her heals click and clak against the ground.  She was lost in her own thoughts once more.  As she walked, the childhood that she had come so far to escape, haunted her once more.  The memories of her darkened past, of the things she and her sister had to endure gripped at her heart like a bear trap bites into a creature's leg.  Tears threatened to sting her eyes as she choked them back, not wanting to remember that anymore, begging anyone high in the heavens that she didn't have to think about it anymore.  She helped people now.  She was using every fiber of her being to make the world a better place for people, to stop aging, to stop the pain and suffering.  She had escaped from the horrible life of her childhood, and found Muller.  But...why did these memories come back so often?  Why did they threaten to take her at the worst possible times?  The Vice-President had told her to leave early because she looked like she was feeling well, and reluctantly, Ilona agreed.  So now, she was off to The 71, to see her sister Bislane.

As she walked, she stopped suddenly, as her eyes, it must have been her eyes--they played tricks on her.  For a minute, she could have sworn she saw the shadows move towards her and reach for her.  No, she was just overworked.  She silently thanked the Vice President for sending her home early.  She could use the night off.  She stopped one more time at the end of an alley way, just to double check.  No, all was normal.

"You have to get a hold of yourself..."  She said softly.  She kept walking.

As she walked, she realized all the good things that she had done for the people of Paris.  She had made so many advances in her field, stopping the aging process.  She was even able to grow some things.  It was all still in the development process, her ultimate goal that is, but then again, that's where science started.  In the Development process.  She was proud of herself.  But she couldn't really take all the acknowledgement.  No, most of it belonged to Muller.  Muller and Bislane.  Bislane had given up her entire life so that her sister's was ensured success.  There wasn't anything that she could really do to pay back her sister.  All the money in the world, all the fame and glory in the world couldn't replace what her sister had given up.

"Hehehe."  She stopped, coming out of her thoughts.  Her eyes went wide.  Her breathing was cut short as she looked around.

"Hehehe.  You just keep getting more beautiful each time I see you Ilona."  Ilona's face froze.  Her heart hammered inside of her chest as she looked around, still not seeing anyone.  She then did what her instincts told her too.  She ran as hard, and as fast as she could.  Her legs stretched out, and her feet pounded upon the ground.  As she ran, the chilling wind blew through her hair, and she felt the chill snap at her features, going all the way through her like sand through a seive.

After what seemed like an eternity of running, she began to slow.  The muscles in her leg were throbbing, having been pulled so taut each time she ran to get away from whatever...or whoever had been following her.  She came to a full stop, gasping for air.  She needed to breathe the fire out of her lungs, her ribs ached, being so cramped from the running.  She brought her eyes level to her surroundings, as opposed to looking at the ground, and noticed that she was right outside The 71.  When she looked up, a familiar face was emerging from the doorway, and she knew right away who it was.

"Bislane!"  She called out, walking weakly over to her sister.  Bislane walked to meet her sister.  She looked at her sister, noticing the weakened expression on her face, and the weak stance she held with her body.

"Ilona what's--"  She didn't finish the statement as her eyes went wide.  She went to speak, but found her throat was suddenly dry.  Her eye-lids fluttered a couple of times, and then she moaned weakly, and fell forward.  Ilona caught her, but that was when she saw the figure.  The figure grinned as it set down the pistol.  Ilona was about to scream, when she noticed that it was just a dart sticking from her sister's neck.  She'd survive.  She didn't think the figure wanted Bislane.

"Oh...she sleeps so beautiful, for thou art God's gift, and thou must remain pure."  The figure said, and just laughed insanely.  He pulled back his hood, revealing perfect black hair, with a skin complexion to match.  He was wearing a black leather jacket, and a pair of blue jeans, with black boots.  His right eye was pure blue, but.....his left, there was a scar running across it, making it just as dull white as the his breath in the forested air.  Ilona's eyes went wide as she backed up, only to find herself against one of the support beams of the bridge above.  The man approached.

"You know Ilona, because of you, I spent eight years locked away...tortured and beaten.  But at least...who I work for now, let's me fully appreciate my target.  Appreciate my target like I almost got to when you were a little girl.  My, you've grown so much more beautiful since then.  At least I'll get to deal with you like I should have before."  He moved forward, and fear froze Ilona where she stoods.  When the man came within arm's length, she remembered herself, and moved forward, bringing her leg right into his groin.  The man fell and coughed.  She ran over to where the Pistol was lying, and picked it up.  She thumbed back the hammer, and held it out, watching the man regain himself, and get up.

"Please...Ilona, don't kill me...I don't wish to die.  I wish...to warn you of the danger you're in!  I don't want to do those things to you..."  He said as he approached, tears stung his face, and Ilona looked at him, but knew, she had a better chance of just killing the man.  She pulled the trigger back, and....

Ilona pulled the trigger three times, and nothing happened.  The barrel was empty.  And she realized, it was a tranquelizer dart that hit her sister.  But either way, she could have at least knocked him out long enough to run inside and get help.  The man laughed darkly, and knocked the gun from her hands.

"As I was saying, my sweet little girl.  I don't want to do those things.  I need to do them."  Ilona swung her fist towards him, but he grabbed her arm, and backhanded her viciously.  Ilona hit the ground hard, and the man laughed.

"I waited fifteen years to see you again Ilona.  At least I'll be able to finish what I started."  The man lifted her up, and got to the car hidden behind 71.  He then looked back before driving off.

"And, my employer.....Your father, is going to have a real.....good time."  He drove off.  All that remained of any sign of the incident, was Bislane, stirring ever so slightly, as some pervert saw her lying down, passed out in the snow.  He grinned deviously.

Working inbetween the Movie Plot, and My own, Ilona is on her way to see her sister, but is kidnapped. The stranger is from her past, and wants more than just to reminisce.

You have a good plot. It keeps me interested all the while. I want to know, though, at the beggining what she's doing walking down a dark alleyway? I might just put walking down the sidewalk, and a few street lamps are burned out so there's only a faint glow from ones in the distance. By the way, though, I love the 'walking all alone in the darkness and the cold' beggining to a story. It shows the reader that the following is going to be rather dark. No sunshine and puppy dogs. ( who wants to read about sunshine and puppy dogs?) Anyway, you give details of who Ilona is, and what she did, and all, so, I'm like, "What's this movie? Maybe I should see it." So nice job there. Other than that, I'd throw in some fancier words and a few deeper descriptions, but those aren't neccisary or anything just my personal preference. I really like this, and you did really well. I'm proud of you, but keep in mind great writing is rarely ever done in the first draft.

Love with all MY heart and soul,
Adrianna

Your prose is great, it's got a William Gibson-esque cyberpunk feel to it, that fits in with the competition wonderfully.
